SEATTLE — Seattle's first Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) franchise now officially has a name: The Seattle Torrent.
The team unveiled its new name and logo during an event at the Museum of Pop Culture, just a short walk from the team's home ice at Climate Pledge Arena.
The Torrent identity represents the force of Pacific Northwest water — rain, snow and glacier movement — with slate and glacier blue colors tied directly to the region’s natural landscape, the team says.
