SAGINAW, MI—Essexville Garber and Freeland faced off for the girls high school volleyball Division 2 district title at Swan Valley High School on Thursday, November 6.
Both teams came out to a roaring crowd as they lined up for the first serve. Garber, however, came out with a statement. They proceeded to win the first set seemingly with ease, finishing it out 25-11.
In the second set, Freeland proved they weren’t going down without a fight. Despite a back and forth set, they ultimately fell to Garber 25-18.
With Garber winning the first two sets, the third proved to be the most intense of them all. With the match hanging on the line, Freeland fought tooth and nail to take the set. Although they battled until the very end, Garber took the third and final set 26-24- winning the district
