PIKE COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) - Major cuts could be coming to the Pike County Ambulance Service.

As the Pike County Board continues to finalize their budget for the 2026 fiscal year, major cuts are expected across the board.

“Because of past problems, or lack of revenue, or shortened revenue, we’re scrambling to make sure that we have a balanced budget,” said board member Andy Borrowman.

Borrowman is on the county’s Public Safety Committee, along with Jim Sheppard and Tom Lewis.

Lewis has been one of the most outspoken board members against cuts to the ambulance service. Borrowman explained a major cut could go into effect regarding how much money the ambulance service earns.
