Mark Robins insists he’s taking this weekend’s big top-of-the-table clash between Stoke and his former employers Coventry City in his stride.

The legendary Sky Blues boss goes into Saturday’s match almost a year to the day that he was controversially sacked by club owner Doug King and replaced three weeks later by Frank Lampard. That’s all water under the bridge now, of course, and both clubs are enjoying a hugely successful start to the 2025/26 campaign where they’re currently battling it out in the early promotion race for the Premier League .

“I think this is our biggest test at the moment because they are top of the league and have been free scoring,” said Robins, speaking in his pe-match press conference ahead of the game at the Bet365 Stadium.
