You may not be able to officially visit Mexico throughout your exploration of Red Dead Redemption 2’s expansive open-world map but this free update will see you finally be able to cross the famous border.

Set in a fictionalised version of late 19th-century United States, Red Dead Redemption 2 spans across multiple states inspired by their real-life counterparts such as Colorado, Wyoming, Louisiana and even the arid deserts of the Southwest.

However, despite many players having tried since Red Dead Redemption 2 was first launched back in 2018, the border to Mexico is blocked by an invisible wall and in-game bounty system.

With many fans believing that this could mean that Red Dead Redemption 3 could finally take us across the border and into Mexico, for now, we have the next best thing.
