Firefighters rescued a child and a teen from a burning rowhouse on 14th Street in Northwest D.C. on Friday morning, authorities say.
The fire broke out in the 4000 block of 14th Street, in the home’s basement, D.C. Fire and EMS said.

The child and teen were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. Medics evaluated a man’s injuries on the scene.
Information on the potential cause of the fire wasn't immediately released.

One of the fire victims had his door closed, which prevented the blaze from spreading, DC FEMS spokesman Vito Maggiolo said.
