KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The punches keep coming as the longest government shutdown in history drags on.

We’re on day 37, and now the federal government says so many air traffic controllers have called out, they need to cancel 10 percent of flights at the nation’s busiest airports for safety purposes starting tomorrow.

Nearly 500 flights have been cancelled today, with more than 5,000 delays as airlines adjust their schedules. Travelers are, obviously and understandably, not happy about the changes as their travel plans get put in limbo.
