One of this week's Champion Chevrolet Athletes of the Week clinched a title for her team, and the other kept momentum going for his team heading into the postseason.

South Tahoe girls soccer's Lilia Verduzco took this week's title on the girls' side, claiming 89% of the vote (728 out of 818 votes).

Verduzco scored the lone goal in the Vikings' 1-0 win over North Tahoe in the girls soccer Class 3A-North Regional championship on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Spanish Springs football's Nery Gonzalez won with a much closer vote margin this week, taking 55.5% of the vote (5,933 out of 10,695 votes) to claim the boys' award.
