The city of Chandler will honor men and women who have served in the U.S. military at a Veterans Day event, set to take place the Sunday before the official Tuesday, Nov. 11 holiday.

The Veterans Day event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 9, 5:30 p.m., at the new Field of Honor at Veterans Oasis Park, 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road.

This year’s event will feature the unveiling of the honor wall in the Field of Honor, a permanent tribute recognizing local veterans who have been nominated.

The recognition wall honors members of the U.S. military who have lived within the Southeast Valley and have been honorably discharged. The first phase includes 23 local veterans, who are invited to attend the Veterans Day event.
