WOONSOCKET – Up against a Hope team that was trying to make a return trip to Rhode Island College, the Woonsocket girls volleyball team knew Thursday’s Division IV semifinal was going to be a tough test.

Guess you can say it was one the Villa Novans passed with ease.

The secret to success in volleyball isn’t really one and when you’ve got a coach like Ruth Plante, it was one Woonsocket wasn’t going to fail. The Villa Novans serve receive and passing game was the difference, giving its offense an opportunity to get into system and score points in a 25-22, 25-18, 25-19 win over the Blue Wave on Nov. 6.
