A man has been arrested and charged in connection with youth exploitation that resulted in £50,000 worth of alcohol being stolen across the Central Belt.

Stores in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh and Forth Valley were hit by young thieves who stole quantities of alcohol, which were then sold on to 'fund organised criminal activity'.

A 43-year-old man was arrested at a property in Glasgow's southside today, November 7, and he will appear in court on February 4, 2026.

The arrest was made after officers made inquiries into the series of alcohol thefts as part of Operation Dynos, an ongoing initiative funded by Police Scotland ’s Retail Crime Taskforce.
