A police probe is underway after a woman had a 'harmful substance' thrown over her in a 'targeted' incident in East Kilbride.

Glasgow Live previously reported that a major emergency service response was dispatched to the Pine Crescent area of Greenhills this afternoon (November 7). Hazmat teams alongside police, fire and ambulance units were deployed to the scene at around 10.55am, with an underpass in the area sealed off.

Police have since confirmed that a 30-year-old woman was checked at the scene. Officers believe this was a targeted incident and extensive enquiries are ongoing in the area.
