LOS ANGELES -- It's meaner, deadlier, and this time the "Predator" franchise has a new protagonist — the Predator itself.

Elle Fanning stars as a Weyland-Yutani synthetic (basically, a really fancy robot) who teams up with a Predator on a hunt for the galaxy's deadliest creature. But on this planet teeming with lethal creatures, they quickly become the hunted.

On The Red Carpet caught up with the leads at the world premiere and got some insight on this fresh take of the franchise.

"This is the first time we actually see the Predator really emoting and being vulnerable," said Fanning.

"I feel like I can say I'm the first person, well not person, but robot to ever befriend a Predator, which is kind of cool."
