The U.S. Coast Guard seized more than 500,000 pounds of cocaine this year - the largest amount in the service's history.
On average, the Coast Guard seizes 167,000 pounds of cocaine annually, and the amount seized in the fiscal year of 2025 is three times that amount.
The amount seized by authorities is estimated to be the equivalent of 193 million potentially lethal doses, enough to endanger over half the U.S. population, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
