PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police responded to King Middle School on Thursday morning after a teacher reported that a man grabbed a 14-year-old female student by the arm.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Nov. 6. The teacher intervened, and the man left the area heading east on Park Avenue, police said in a press release. The student was not injured, the release stated.
Police said officers located and interviewed the individual involved. After investigating, police determined the incident was "not nefarious in nature," and the student’s parents chose not to pursue charges, according to the release.
The Portland Police Department thanked King Middle School staff for their attentiveness and prompt action in reporting the situation.
