LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Carl Clifford Howard Gray, the former chairman and CEO of Gray Construction and a major figure in Kentucky’s business and civic community, has died. He was 76.
According to an obituary shared by his family, Gray passed away November 5 at his home in Lexington.
Gray was born in Glasgow, Kentucky. After his father died, he took over leadership of Gray Construction at just 23 years old. Under his direction, the company grew from a small regional contractor into a nationally ranked design-build firm working with major industrial and international clients.
