RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ) - Churchill Downs, Inc. and the Virginia Veterans Foundation have donated $2,500 to VFW Post 776 (Radford-Montgomery County) to help the organization after a break-in damaged its facility, the foundation announced on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Before Labor Day, a break-in happened at VFW Post 776 (Radford-Montgomery County), causing thousands of dollars in damage. Items were taken including a historic World War I rifle, the foundation said.
The $2,500 donation came from the Colonial Downs VFW Post Home Improvement Grant program ; the donation will be used to cover most of the damage caused by the break-in, according to the foundation.
