The City of Duluth has unveiled what it calls "a once-in-a-career opportunity."

It's looking for someone to operate and manage the city's historic Aerial Lift Bridge.

The Aerial Lift Bridge Supervisor job puts someone in the position of managing an iconic piece of the city's history, tasked with overseeing personnel "to ensure safe passage of ships, pedestrians, and motorists" around the bridge and the Minnesota Slip Pedestrian Bridge.

While it's not a job just anyone could get — it requires experience and a Minnesota State Electrical Journeyman License — the city's not wrong about it being a rare and alluring gig.
