The same week that the new "Purple Rain" musical opened at the State Theatre, the Hennepin County Library (HCL) has unveiled a limited edition Prince library card.

Announced on Friday, the new cards are emblazoned with a photo of the iconic rock star, clad in a purple jacket and playing a yellow Telecaster in 1985, just a year after the release of Prince's Oscar- and Grammy-winning film.

While they're in stock, which we're guessing won't be long, they can be snagged at all 41 Hennepin County Library locations.
