BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — LSU interim Athletic Director Verge Ausberry will officially serve in the position full-time.
Ausberry, a New Iberia native and former Tigers football player, was promoted soon after the university named Wade Rousse as its new system president. He has worked at LSU's athletic department for 24 years, previously serving as executive deputy athletic director before his promotion to the current position.
In a message to the LSU community, Ausberry confirmed that his appointment was formalized by Rousse on Nov. 6 and is quickly getting to work on the search for a new head football coach after Brian Kelly's firing.
