A Loyalist College program intended to make it easier for rural students to learn has received a grant of more than $480,000.
The Belleville college’s Rural Learning Initiative is a pilot program for removing transportation and cost barriers for as many as 365 students as they complete field placements, clinical practicums, and more.

The grant comes from Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL), formerly the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (CAFCE). The organization’s website describes it as “the lead organization for work-integrated learning in Canada.”
