GRAND CANYON WEST, Ariz. — A man died after falling at the Grand Canyon on Thursday, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.

At 2 p.m., deputies received a call to assist the Hualapai Nation in a technical recovery at Guano Point.

According to officials, a 65-year-old man slipped, fell over the edge and died.

A search-and-rescue team reportedly located him about 130 feet down.

Officials say the body was recovered and taken to the Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office. The man's name was not disclosed.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs Police, Hualapai Nation Fire and Grand Canyon West Security assisted in the operation, officials said.
