ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Tyler Perry is helping metro Atlanta families who are facing hunger amid the ongoing federal government shutdown.
The Atlanta-based media mogul told People magazine he’s donated nearly $1.4 million to organizations that support families impacted by benefit cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
According to People, those organizations include the Atlanta Community Food Bank , Meals on Wheels Atlanta , Caring for Others , All for Lunch , Ron Clark Academy and Goodr , which are all based in metro Atlanta.
Perry also reportedly donated to Baby2Baby , which is based in Los Angeles.
Perry is known for paying it forward in Atlanta.
