Joseph Woll is inching his way closer to returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ crease.
The goalie is set to join the Toronto Marlies of the AHL on a conditioning stint, Leafs head coach Craig Berube announced after practice on Friday, according to Sportsnet’s Jesse Fuchs.
Woll stepped away from the team on Sept. 23 to attend to a personal family matter. He rejoined the squad and resumed on-ice activities on Oct. 24.
Speaking for the first time since taking a leave of absence, Woll said he was grateful for all the support, while adding he’s ready to play whenever.
