The No. 1 Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks are back in the Yates Cup, but even as favourites, they’re taking nothing for granted.

Facing the No. 4 Queen’s Gaels at University Stadium on Saturday, Laurier is aiming for its second straight OUA title and is just two wins away from returning to the Vanier Cup, Canada’s national university football championship.

“The boys are chomping at the bit,” said Golden Hawks head coach Michael Faulds. “They’re excited, but we have a little bit more work to do. We’ve got a ton of respect for the Queen’s Gaels. They’re going to come into a hostile environment. It’s going to be an exciting crowd.”
