ADDISON, Wis. (WFRV) - A fire that is believed to have started in the kitchen of a southeastern Wisconsin home caused an estimated $300,000 in damage and left one dog dead.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office say they were notified of a house fire in the 200 block of Weis Street in Addison around 2:50 a.m. on Friday, November 7.
The fire was reported by the homeowner, who told authorities that everyone had safely evacuated and that they believed the fire was coming from the kitchen.
The first deputy to arrive confirmed that all of the home's residents had made it outside and reported that no flames were visible, but heavy smoke could be seen.
According to the release, a dog was trapped in the home and was found dead after the fire was put out.
