WASHINGTON — Honda is recalling hundreds of thousands of Civics because some of the cars may have improperly manufactured accessory wheels that could detach.
The recall includes Honda Civics for model years 2016-2021, according to a Nov. 6 notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
While 406,290 vehicles are being recalled, the automaker said only 3,276 of the 18-inch aluminum alloy accessory wheels were sold in the U.S. and may have been improperly manufactured.
Honda is recalling all of the vehicles though so dealers can inspect the wheels and replace the hubs and wheels as necessary, free of charge, NHTSA said.
