DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The man accused of starting the devastating Camp House Fire in May has pleaded guilty.

According to the DNR, 27-year-old Parker Wilson, of Duluth, was cited in September by St. Louis County with a misdemeanor charge for allegedly failing to extinguish a campfire that led to the much larger Camp House Fire.

The Camp House Fire burned thousands of acres and destroyed more than 150 structures across northeast Minnesota in May.

According to state statute, being cited for such a crime can result in 90 days in jail, a one-thousand-dollar fine, or both.
