Although this is the first baby born to Kalim and dad Isim, 31, Kalim previously welcomed two other infant orangutans
The Los Angeles Zoo has welcomed a new primate baby — the first of its kind at the zoo in nearly 15 years!
On Thursday, Nov. 6, the zoo announced that one of its Bornean orangutans, 43-year-old Kalim, had given birth to a baby boy on Oct. 10.
The mother and baby had been spending his first month behind-the-scenes at the zoo, and they recently made their debut at the Red Ape Rain Forest, the zoo said.
