JEFF DAVIS PARISH, La. (KPLC) - An investigation into a shooting at the home of Coushatta Tribal Chairman David Sickey will now be led by Louisiana State Police.
On Sunday, Nov. 2, Coushatta Tribal Police were called to investigate an “act of violence perpetrated against the Chairman and his family,” Coushatta officials said in a news release. A single shot was reportedly fired into the bedroom of the chairman’s sleeping child.
A media advisory sent by the tribe indicated Tribal Police, the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, and federal agencies were involved in the investigation. Sheriff Kyle Miers confirmed his office was leading the inquiry and had recovered evidence from the scene.
