Charges against a woman for committing an indecent act in a public place were dropped as part of plea deal.

Security called Sarnia police to report a male and female engaged in an indecent act in an area behind a store on Exmouth Street around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 15.

The pair left before police arrived, but a woman was identified through security images. The woman was on probation and banned from that store.

Later that day, the same woman was arrested by security at a store on London Road and accused of shoplifting lighters and batteries.

Mary Maillet, 46, was charged with committing an indecent act, theft, breaching bail, and breaching probation. She was released on bail.
