Attorney General Peter Neronha and the owner of Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital have reached an agreement to keep the struggling hospitals open through the end of November.

The deal includes letting Prospect Medical Holdings, the bankrupt owner of the hospitals , tap $3 million from a fund Neronha has set aside for the hospitals' future needs to pay to operate the facilities in November, Neronha's office said in a news release. The attorney general-controlled hospital fund has a balance of around $51 million secured from the private equity firm that used to control them.
