Smithfield's high school football team will play on its home field on Friday, Nov. 7 and under a glare of scrutiny that has focused on a football hazing incident and charges of antisemitism from Jewish organizations.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha has notified the school system that his office is investigating a parent's complaint, which says a Jewish student was assaulted and harassed in antisemitic abuse that took place before football practice on Sept. 30.
