Manager of Cornwall Transit Jean Marcil said the recent completion of upgrades at Cornwall Transit’s building and maintenance garage make for a very good news story.

“The building is from 1974 and it needed some renovations. It’s really a positive thing for Cornwall Transit going forward into the future,” said Marcil.

“Going back to when we first opened, it was just Cornwall Transit buses (we serviced). At one point, we added the police (vehicles), then we added the ambulances. But we never added to the building.”

Marcil expressed gratitude for the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) funding that supported the project. A breakdown of the funding saw 40 per cent from federal sources totalling $1,033,529, 33.33 per cent from provincial sources totalling
