The status of federal food assistance across the country is quickly changing.

The situation has gone from a halt in benefits during the longest government shutdown on record to court orders requiring the feds to resume benefits, a plan to partially fund SNAP and now an emergency appeal from the Trump administration.

What is the latest out of court?

The Trump administration on Nov. 6 said it is appealing a court order to fully fund SNAP benefits. This came the same day that a judge in Rhode Island ordered the administration to fully fund food assistance by today, Friday, Nov. 7.
