CENTRAL, S.C. —
Semper Fi Barn in Pickens County is hosting a celebration on Saturday, Nov. 8, just days before Veterans Day.
The Marine Corps' 250th birthday, Oath of Enlistment, and Veterans Day ceremony will be the focal points of Saturday's events.
Twenty-seven recruits will take the Oath of Enlistment. Below is an itinerary of events according to Semper Fi Barn:
Oath of Enlistment Ceremony – Local recruits take their oath of service.
Traditional Marine birthday cake cutting – Featuring the oldest Marine (Corporal James Whitley, 93 years old) and newest recruit.
Passing the Torch Ceremony – A symbolic moment as Marine veterans welcome the next generation.
