OMAHA, Neb. —
Ana Chairez, a cancer survivor and employee at Nebraska Medicine, helps patients regain their confidence by fitting them with wigs, drawing from her own experience battling breast cancer.
"It flipped my life upside down. Was about a year and a half of extreme everything. I went through everything, I did egg freezing, chemo, double mastectomy, lymph node dissection, radiation," Chairez said, talking about her diagnosis at 30 years old.
After her treatment, Chairez sought a career change and said, "I started looking at Nebraska Medicine because they saved my life."
She lost her hair during her cancer journey and now works with others experiencing the same.
