SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) -- Two new park benches will be unveiled on Nov. 10 in honor of a tree that recently died in McCauley Park, the City of Savannah announced Friday.
The benches are crafted from the wood of the live oak tree, known as "Spider Web", after it was removed due to storm damage in August.
The wood was repurposed for the benches and will sit in the spot where the live oak once stood.
The public is encouraged to attend the unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 10 in McCauley Park, near 50th Street and Battery Street.
