A bomb squad has been dispatched to East Beach in Moray, Scotland, following the discovery of a suspected unexploded device. The incident occurred at approximately 1.20pm on Friday, November 7, prompting a swift response from local police.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and are advising the public to steer clear of the beach while investigations are underway. A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed the situation, stating, "Around 1.20pm, we were called to a report of a suspected unexploded ordnance in the East Beach, Seatown area of Lossiemouth. Officers are at the scene and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team have been made aware. A small cordon is in place and the public are advised to avoid the area."

Local Conservative councillor James Allan also urged caution among residents and visitors. He posted on Facebook, "A member of the public has seen what they think could be unexploded ordnance on the beach that has been washed up. Officers are cordoning access to the area off so no one can get too close to it before EOD officers examine it to see what it is. There’s nothing to suggest anything untoward or criminal, merely making sure people don’t get too close."

The police and bomb disposal teams are currently assessing the situation to determine the nature of the device. The public is advised to remain vigilant and adhere to the safety measures in place until further notice.

As investigations continue, local authorities are working to ensure the safety of the community and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
