A man who was shot at West Toledo restaurant Thursday evening died later that night at an area hospital, police said.

Crews responded to ZaZa Wood Fired Pizza & Mediterranean Cuisine in the Executive Market Place shopping center, 3550 Executive Pkwy., just before 8:40 p.m.

They found Jayson Brown, 22, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene and taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where he later died.

Police declined to release any further details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and their initial press release did not list a suspect name or description.

“It’s crazy but stuff like this is happening all over,” said Jenny Bielak, manager of the Supercuts in the same shopping center.
