LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are attempting to identify the suspected driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash.
At 3:35 a.m. Friday, authorities were alerted to a person found near the road in the 1700 block of E 1500 Road in north Lawrence.
When deputies with the DCSO arrived at the scene, they determined the woman had died. The woman was identified as a 20-year-old resident of Lawrence and authorities said an investigation determined she was struck around 6 p.m. Thursday.
It is believed the woman was running in the area before she was struck by a vehicle.
On Friday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of a white or light-colored truck that they believe is involved in the fatal hit-and-run crash.
