A trial date for Nyquan Small, the suspect charged with felony murder in connection to a spring shooting, was set on Friday morning by Chatham County Judge Benjamin Karpf.
Small, 30, turned himself in to the Savannah Police Department (SPD) in late July, months after the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Rasheen Adkins. He was also formally charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and tampering with evidence in early October.
His trial date is set for April 6, 2026.
Three others, Andrew Leroy Barnwell, 24, Shantea Bright, 50, and Harry Emanuel Bright, 24, were also arrested in connection with the April 5 shooting. Small remains the only one charged with murder in the case.
SPD said the shooting occurred in the 800 block of Tatem
