PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- An alleged early morning home invasion led to the arrest of a Peoria man.
Donald R. Criss, 39, was arrested for charges including home invasion and aggravated battery, Peoria Police Department spokesperson Semone Roth.
Just before 3 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, officers received a report of a man causing a disturbance in the 700 block of Wayne Street.
Arriving officers spoke with a woman who said that a man, later identified as Criss, had argued with her. The victim said that after she went inside the home, Criss allegedly forcibly entered and pistol-whipped her in the head. She received non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers found Criss inside the home and took him into custody, Roth said. Police searched the residence and found a loaded handgun.
