RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Reno Police Chief Kathryn Nance says 10 pounds of fentanyl has been seized by the Regional Narcotics Unit this year.
That amount of fentanyl adds up to around 2.4 million potentially lethal doses.
Nance also two of their significant seizures of narcotics have happened in the last two months, including one last Friday, when more than two pounds of narcotics were recovered from a vehicle.
“One pill kills. fentanyl has become incredibly dangerous across our country and I want parents to really understand how a child could obviously easily take something but not know what’s in a pill,” said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve.
RPD says fentanyl has become a serious problem in our area over the last few years, and that it is beginning to make its way into other drugs as well.
