A bottle of Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco.

Costco announced this week that it's recalling nearly 1 million bottles of sparkling wine due to a serious safety hazard.

Approximately 941,400 bottles of the retailer Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco are being recalled, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The bottles, which sold for about $8 each between April and August, were manufactured in Italy and imported by Ethica Wines of Miami, Florida.
