COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — The former Coventry councilor accused of driving under the influence earlier this year is not longer facing charges, 12 News has learned.

Robert Delellis, 57, resigned from the Coventry Town Council after his arrest in East Greenwich back in September, when he was pulled over by a Rhode Island State trooper who caught him driving 92 mph down I-95 South.

Delellis was initially charged with driving under the influence after failing a series of field sobriety tests. He was also cited for speeding and refusing to submit a chemical test, according to court records.
