A Phoenix subcommittee recommended two judges be appointed for Phoenix Municipal Court on Wednesday, leaving the third vacancy open with plans to fill the vacancy in the next 12 months.

The two candidates recommended by the subcommittee will need to be voted on by the full city council for final approval.

The Phoenix Public Safety and Justice Subcommittee recommended Brett Hutchison and Christine Mulleneaux to fill two of three vacant seats on the court.

The other five candidates the subcommittee members reviewed on Wednesday were apparently not up to their standards as they chose to leave the third vacancy open
