CHESHIRE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Cheshire’s police chief is facing charges after allegedly soliciting sex for a fee.

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office said that 53-year-old Michael Alibozek of Adams was arrested Thursday night in the parking lot of Hoosac Valley Middle and High School. It’s alleged that he had been communicating online with an undercover detective with the State Police detective unit assigned to the D.A.’s office.

Alibozek was relieved of his duty as chief after the arrest and has been placed on paid administrative leave by Cheshire town officials. His town-issued gun and police station access were also seized and the matter has been reported to the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission.
