PHOENIX — A man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2018 murders of his estranged pregnant girlfriend and her roommate, and the kidnapping of her two children.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office said Dimas Coronado Chafino was found guilty of the following:
3 counts of first-degree murder, a class one felony
2 counts of kidnapping, a class two felony
Burglary in the first degree, a class two felony
Interfering with judicial proceedings, a class one misdemeanor
According to MCAO, in September 2018, Oralia Nuñez , and her roommate, Omar Gonzalez , were found severely injured at their home near West Van Buren Street and 35th Avenue.
Nuñez, who was 24 weeks pregnant, was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Gonzalez had severe head and neck trauma.
