SOUTHINGTON, Ohio (WKBN) - It wasn't long ago when Southington officially moved to 8-man football. Now fast forward two years later, they have a chance to bring home the program's first state title on Saturday's WKBN Game of the Week.

"Showing these guys that we started a few years ago with nothing, we can build it if we put our minds to it," Southington head coach Justin Kren said. "Everybody digs in and does the hard work. Our hard work paid off, and they're seeing it."

Five years ago, a winless campaign was followed by a season cancellation due to low numbers. Now in the second season with a full 8-man schedule, the 9-1 Wildcats find themselves playing for it all after a dominating 52-8 win over Danbury.
